Whether your child's interest is in visual arts, dance, music, or drama, we have camps for them right here in Mount Airy. Registration can be done in person at the Andy Griffith Playhouse or online.

  • Scholarships

We are currently accepting 2024 summer camp scholarship applications. There are no auditions for summer camp applications.

Both the  SAC Summer Camp Application and the Dr. John L. Gravitte “Dentistry with Heart” Scholarship Application are now available for download.

You may also pick up these applications at the Surry Arts Council office at the Arts Center. Scholarhip applications may also be picked up at Dr. John. L. Gravitte's office located at 140 North Pointe Blvd, Mount Airy.

Several years ago, Dr. Gravitte began sponsoring scholarships for Surry Arts Council summer camps to help provide summer enrichment opportunities for children. A positive experience for a child in theatre, art, music, etc. can change the course of their life and these great summer camps can provide the skills needed to grow and help boost their confidence in a big way!

Thank you to John L. Gravitte, DDS, PA for providing the Dr. John L. Gravitte “Dentistry with Heart” scholarships to provide opportunities to our youth.

Completed applications should be emailed to marianna@surryarts.org.

Scholarships for selected summer camps are available ach year from the Kester Sink Birthday Endowment. This fund was set up when Kester turned 80. He turned 100 on September 13, 2023. Over $25,000 in scholarships from this fund have been awarded to Surry County young people for Surry Arts Council summer arts experiences during he past 20 years. The Surry Arts Council is grateful to Kester Sink and the entire Sink family for their love of the arts and their support.
