Celebrating over 40 years of music success, Howard and David Bellamy have created a patent on the newly cool “duo” category in country music. In the era of the 2000’s, The Bellamy Brothers hold the record in both the Academy of Country Music (ACM) and the Country Music Association Awards (CMA) for the most duo nominations. Numerous Grammy nods have also been directed toward the brothers. Particularly appropriate for Mayberry Days, David Bellamy wrote “I Wish Life Was Like The Andy Griffith Show.” By the late ‘70’s The Bellamys were emerging on the country charts with another bona fide smash. “If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body (Would You Hold It Against Me),” rocketed them to the top of the country charts the way “Let Your Love Flow,” had done in the pop market just a few years earlier. It proved to be the first of a string of fourteen #1 singles in the U.S. alone.

Neal Brower has acquired a wealth of knowledge about The Andy Griffith Show from his years of correspondence and contact with the cast members and crews. Don't miss this facinating discussion with answers to insightful questions and clips from the show.

Neal Brower is the author of Mayberry 101 and taught "The Andy Griffith Show: An Indepth Study" at Community Colleges throughout North Carolina for many years. His lectures are also presented at the Andy Griffith Museum during the year.

The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Club meeting will follow afterward and everyone is invited to join. Hear the year in review and what is in store for the upcoming year from the "Presiding Goober, Emeritus" and founding member of the club, Jim Clark. You also have the opportunity to learn more about the activities of the year, what is on the calendar for upcoming events, meet other TAGSRWC Chapters and members, share what your chapter has been doing and other interesting trivial trivialities. Floyd and Otis will be awarding trophies to the contest winners and annual club awards.

Jim Clark is a freelance writer from Nashville, TN and author of many books, including Aunt Bee's Mayberry Cookbook and many other Mayberry related books.

Many thanks to the 2015 special guest, Bruce Bilson
for sharing stories and memories from his time as the
